NETE offers thorough reviews and audits of web site pages and linked file and multimedia elements for guidelines and industry best practices compliance to include: web sites checked against 508 guidelines, organization architecture best practices, navigation ease, cross browser capability, and alternative content review (ALT tagging) using W3C, Federal agency or organization guidelines, and industry standards and agency-level tools. Based on our view of technological and content accessibility, we will create a set of recommendations for your web site’s compliance.

In 1998, Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act to require Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology access. The result was the Section 508 guidelines and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) checkpoints, which NETE follows throughout the development life cycle of web, software and electronic documents designing. Our team not only follows Section 508 Accessibility guidelines but makes usability a priority - to understand the full scope of what the end user will need to easily navigate the site.

Our Federal experience with accessibility, Section 508 compliance and usability services includes working for several offices and websites for the United States Army, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
